Type K Thermokoppel (Nikkel-Chroom / Nikkel-Alumel): De type K is het meest voorkomende type thermokoppel. Het is goedkoop, nauwkeurig, betrouwbaar en heeft een breed temperatuurbereik. De type K wordt vaak gebruikt in nucleaire toepassingen vanwege zijn relatieve stralingsbestendigheid. Maximale continue temperatuur is ongeveer 1.100C.
